At Chisel & Loom, our story begins in the heart of Union County, where every beam, mantel, and plank of flooring is crafted by hand in our Plainfield, NJ workshop. What started as a passion for thoughtful design and honest materials has grown into a design/build firm dedicated to creating pieces that feel timeless, grounded, and uniquely personal.

We’ve had the privilege of working alongside many of the tri-state area’s leading architects, builders, and designers—but some of our most rewarding work comes from partnering directly with homeowners. We believe great design is collaborative. Your ideas, your home, and your way of living shape everything we create.

Because we manufacture everything ourselves, we’re able to guide each project from raw material to final placement. Every detail—every cut, every finish, every moment of the process—is given the same care we’d put into our own homes.
